Default 04' Precedent Champion Series... NO MOVEMENT.

Hey everyone,
I have a 04 Precedent Champion Series and I just put brand new Trojan T-1275 batteries in it...... Measured voltages with meter and was receiving 50 volts........ I read the two large lugs on the relay (each one to ground on the batteries) and was receiving the same 50 volts...... If I measure across the large lugs of the relay I only got approx. 1.13 volts. Moving the pedal never changed anything. Measure across the small blade connectors on the relay and still only approx. 1.13 volts....... Foot pedal switch clicks when depressed..... Relay by controller never clicks....... I jumpered the relay with a set of jumper cables...... large lug to large lug and jacked up the cart...... depressed the gas pedal and still no movement........ Nothing in forward or reverse........ No reverse buzzer, nothing...... Any help would be appreciated.

Ouch! That sure sounds like a controller issue. Your readings at the solenoid (you called a relay) are correct. The 1.13v difference on the large post is correct and would have went to 0v had it closed in.

Was the cart working before you changed the batteries or is this a new issue? (Did you have the cart in "Tow" before you changed the batteries? Did you drop and wrenches or see any sparks while doing it??)

I believe it was in tow...... I don't remember. Every time I connect the lead to the negative post on the batteries, it sparks BAD. I did not short anything out when replacing the batteries...... Is there away I can test the controller? There are three leads on the controller White Black and ??(Red)??. I tested the leads and found 50v on two of the leads when touching a ground on the batteries. One lead goes to the positive of the battery (I believe through the solenoid) to the controller, and the other lead goes to the motor...... Both showed approx. 50v.

Have you checked the main fuse in the harness? It is after the Run/Tow switch.

Are you sure the batteries are in series correctly?

Was it running fine prior to replacing the batteries?

Here is a schematic of your cart. Print this and save it somewhere as it will help you a lot down the road when trouble shooting.

It was not running prior to replacing the batteries........ It has sat for YEARS!

The batteries are in series correctly.

The Main Fuse........ Well this may be my problem! It appears that someone has done some wiring...... Please take a look at the photos....... Can you tell me what in the world the splice is between the red and blue wire, and is it correct the way they have it? I DO NOT see a fuse any where....... This Might be a problem...... SMH...... So could this have messed up the controller?

That appears to be a factory installed diode and is probably correct.

In the last picture, your index finger of your right hand appears to be on the fuse holder connected into the Pink wire.

You should have measured either pack voltage if the Solenoid activation had worked or 0v, never 1.13v.

If the reverse buzzer is not working either it may be the OBC lockout.

Does the charger work?

Plugging the charger IN will activate the OBC.

If it still does not work after plugging and unplugging the charger, do the OBC lockout by-pass temporarily to see if it fixes the problem.

The OBC lockout by-pass is done by jumping the Blue and White wire on the harness side 6-pin connector that goes to the OBC.
