Well done to both of you. The detective work made good reading.

It was just enough of a variation from "normal" to concern me, lol. I've never seen them act that way, but I guess I had never pushed the pedal with those wires unhooked. I've been working on carts for years, and still consider myself very green and always learning. Now to find an online "charger repair 101 and 102". Lol.

What charger do you have?

Also what is the voltage on the battery pack when it's at rest? After at least 12 hours with the charger unplugged.
What about during charging after the charger has been on for a few hours?

This particular cart has the Powerdrive 2, I believe. But I have about 5 chargers that need repaired for various carts and customers.

It came in reading 46.8, so I had a huge feeling that the main issue was the charging. The charger would stay at 18 amps for hours, like 4-5 hours, before I would unplug it. After resetting the OBC, I used another charger from another in house cart and carried it home. It took almost 10 hours to charge it, but it was reading 48.8 after it all. The charger had a broken diode panel and what I figure to be a relay issue. The new parts should be here in a few days and I will see if it fixes it.

Which charger are you currently running? And how old are the batteries? Have you tried resetting the OBC? Have you checked the charger out put while charging?

At 48.8 those batteries are still only about half charged.
A severely discharged pack (below 48.0v) will take 12 hours or more to fully re-charge. Pack voltage should be 50.9 at rest about 12 hours after charging.
During charging the pack voltage needs to be getting above 58.3v for the OBC to recognize the pack is reaching a full charge, and switch to the absorption phase of charging. After that switch the charge amperage will drop slightly, and pack voltage may continue to slowly rise to over 60v. Some packs may get higher than that up to 65v depending on pack condition.
The OBC should time out after 16 hours of charge time. And sometimes it may still need more time to reach a true full charge. Let the OBC do its thing and they should be OK, but at this point it sounds like they need another 5-6 hours at least on the charger to reach a full charge.

No reason to suspect the diodes are bad. Typically a bad diode/rectifier will cause the circuit breaker on the charger to trip after it has been running only a few seconds.
If the charger Clicks on a few seconds after you plug it into the cart, the relay is fine.

The OBC is bad. Good time to switch to a Summit II, or other smart charger.
Personally I wouldn't go out of my way to buy an ERIC charger, but if you have one laying around or can get one dirt cheap then go for it.

The cart was charged with a different charger after resetting the OBC and given back to the owner. The charger continues to be trouble, as it will turn on and stay at @ 13 amps for 4-5 hours before I unplug it....with the original relay. Or it will not turn on at all with a new relay installed. Both diode boards are good, as one was broken in two when it came in but has been replaced. I'm not sure what to check next.
