Will low charge batteries actuate the solenoid?
I purchased a non operational 1999 Club Car DS 36V. It was converted to 48V in 2018 with all the appropriate components, it has 8 6v batteries. It recently sat for a while but not sure how long, the batteries were dry so I serviced them with water and placed them on charge for about 30 min with the caps off. Visibly you could see lots of sulfation and the cases bulge. A few of the batteries I charged overnight on 6v before reconnecting the series and charging as a pack for another 30min. The batteries read 47v in series, have not tested individual batteries. The cart has zero response when switches are all on and pedal actuated, no solenoid click or anything. Zip. Im wondering how much charge should be required to get a solenoid click? How do I test for amps? What specific amount of voltage and/or amps are required to operate the solenoid?

Re: Will low charge batteries actuate the solenoid?
Can you post pics of all the appropriate equipment used to convert the 1999 36v CC to 48v?
Typical 48v solenoid would need at about 40v to activate. Looking for ward to pictures |

30 minutes is nothing on those batteries. Let it charge until it shuts off then see what you have.

Re: Will low charge batteries actuate the solenoid?
Will do, thanks. BTW comparing components and wiring to wiring diagrams the cart looks identical to a 1999 club car ds regen 48v system, may have originally been. i was just told it was converted. who knows

Attached are some pictures. I charged it for 6 hours, the charger read 12 amps when i started and 10 when I took it off. Batteries read 50v. Still nothing, not the slightest click or hum.
