Too good to be true. It worked for a day and went right back to limp mode On hills or any load. Ran a meter and see that power is 50v and drops down as I accelerate or climb. When it gets to 42ish it kicks into limp. Once in limp the voltage stays up. Cycle tow switch and it comes out of limp. What am I looking at? Batteries? Motor? I did notice the motor was pretty warm after a drive. Should it run fairly hot?

It may be dirty contacts in the speed sensor connector. Get a can of this at your Auto Parts Store and spray the connector pins out. Don't try using any other type of cleaner as they might be corrosive.

Is it normal for the voltage to draw down to 42 under load? Watching the meter it seems like that’s the point it goes to limp. Once in limp the voltage stays up.

Put your meter on each battery and drive it...If any drop below 7v under load it is bad...

That was my next move. I have 12v batteries though so I’m guessing if they drop below 11?

Ok so testing each battery separately none went below 11 before it went into limp. They all tested about the same. What the heck is going on? The motor is fairly hot after running it. I don’t know how hot exactly. I can hold my hand on it but if it was much hotter and I wouldn’t be able to for long and I have tough hands.

Could the OBC do this? I know someone said it doesn’t have anything to do with the motor but I have to reset the OBC to get it out of limp so it has to have some connection to it. Is it managing power and dropping the voltage kicking it i to limp? I’m just spitballing. I need an expert..... who is “the guy” to tag around here?
