Re: 28 degree clutch question
The ST 480 has all it can have stock. Change the gear ratio, get the clutches machined or add horsepower, or all three. Those are HUGE tires for any kind of "cart".

Re: 28 degree clutch question
I think it would be Tom at cart parts plus, he machines the clutches for a little extra bottom end. Someone may have an upgrade or mods for that motor. I haven't seen a lot of 480 questions here...
They are on the sponsors page. It may be Dixie Sales. |

Re: 28 degree clutch question
That should have a 16hp briggs. V twin. I think those can be modified to ?? I don't know the various BB combos and capabilities. I do lean toward more HP for those tires!

Re: 28 degree clutch question
well so far she still runs 28mph on gps and pulls pretty good, spins em with little problems even with rear end locked,no shuttering or delays,I have been traversing an area with palmettos and hills and it seems to do good,I could always sacrifice some top end for bottom end.I will get some pics up soon...

I have read lots on here about 36 & 28 degree cams for the clutches in a post it was said the numbers were embossed or stamped on them I have a 4 cycle deafened that has a 36 came. I have 2 (2 cycle) rearends that are not embossed or stamped. Can anybody tell me whatever's I have? Thanks Al
