Default slipping belt on the 23 hp clubcar

We did a 23hp briggs kit from ccp and under any load the belt slips. I know those engines run in reverse but you think the belt may be glazed over or something? Any suggestions?

What clutch and belt are you using, does the side angle of your belt match the angle of the clutch?

its the comet clutch and we didnt get any grease or oil on it. My guess is it may just be glazed over from getting it wet or muddy at one point

How do you like that kit? I really miss having that big block power that I had in my G9. I was thinking about getting a kit from CPP for my new project. Not sure about having to run the cart in reverse all of the time.
