1994 or 1994.5? What do I have
First off, totall new to the GC world. I recently purchased a 1994 EZGO (Marathon or Fleet; dont know the difference) with a 350cc motor - I know this b/c I have spark plug # NGK BPR5ES. I dont know if it matters but is there a difference between 1994 and 1994.5 models? I am looking into purchasing a tune up kit but am having problems finding a kit for this motor size and year.....I have also seen many references for carts ending in year 94 and 94.5....Do all 350cc tune up kit work?

I think somewhere in the there they went from 1 cylinder 2 cycles to 2 cylinder 4 cycles and I would bet all 350s are the same (2 cylinder 4 cycle)

I don't think just because you have a BPR5ES plug that makes it a EH35 (350 cc) You need to look on the bottom side of the engine to determine that. Look for EH29 (290 cc) or EH35 (350 cc). It will be stamped in.

Quote:
In 1994 the Models were: Marathon and Medalist The trim/accessory packages were: Fleet, Freedom, Freedom HP If the front cowl is rounded at the corners and rear fenders then you have a Medalist. If every corner is squared and you have two seat backs then you have a Marathon. If you have a Sticker on the side of your car with a number, then a golf course owned the car first. If the sticker says Freedom then you get head lights, tail lights, brake lights, analog fuel gauge, low oil pressure light, and a horn. If the sticker on the side says Freedom HP then you get all the aforementioned accessories plus HS gears. You have a 295cc engine, unless you have a green diamond plate body with a black diamond plate bed. The plugs you need to use are BPR4ES, the colder 5ES plugs will load the engine up. Bob |

forgot to ask....why does the maintenance booklet mention that ...5ES is the correct spark plug if ...4ES is a better one to use?...

Vinnie the plugs you have in there now will work just fine the reason they use such a hot plug in golf carts is because they start faster and since the original use of these carts is just to go hole to hole detination wasnt a problem here in arizona where heat is a way of life I was putting a lot
colder plug (b8es) since we arent driving them in short bursts we are running them farther and harder!!!! |
