Seen this post I was using a starter from a 1990 club car 341 engine on my 1997 club car and I wired it for CCW and this helped getting it to CW

This starter's brushes don't care which way the commutator rotates. Not that kind of brush spring.

I think the reason for being concerned about the brushes is because if you get a used starter/generator and swap rotation, the brushes may have some directional wear on them from spinning one direction for years, then just flipping the rotation could cause an issue.

But yeah, with a brand new starter/generator or brand new brushes it shouldn't be an issue.
