First, Welcome to BGW. First I would check the small 18 gauge wire from the positive battery post that runs down and into the wireharness. Second, check both the positive and negative fuses (to the left of the battery or behind the solenoids). Good luck.

Are you getting power to the starter/gen? Get your volt meter out and have someone try to start it and check for power at the terminal. You will have four wires that come from the solenoids and go down to the starter gen. Two will be grounds, two will be hot. Out of the two hot wires, one will turn on for reverse, and one will turn on for forward. Check those. You should get 12.0 + volts there, which is battery power.

If you do not have power:
1. check all your wire connections to the starter/gen, to the solenoids, and also the wires that go to the pedal switch and ignition switch.
2. make sure all wires are tight and free of corrosion.
3. if the connections are all tight and clean, it could be a bad switch or solenoid.
4. report back and we'll help you sort through it.

If you do have power, and the starter gen doesn't turn:
1. remove the belts from the engine
2. rotate clutch on the engine by hand, see if the engine spins
3. if the engine spins, you might have a bad starter gen

If the engine doesn't spin by hand:
1. keep belts removed
2. go through the steps like you were starting the cart
3. the starter gen should spin freely, forward and reverse, when you push the pedal
4. this will confirm that you have a good starter/gen

Confirm?

It could be the pedal switch or the solenoids. Lets try one thing at a time. It sounds as if the starter gen works. So lets do some looking at the wires near the accelerator pedal. What condition are they in and are the connections tight?
