Default ‘95 Club Car DS clutch not engaging?

The cart is running for 5 minutes and then sputters to a stop. I can press the accelerator and it just runs the starter belt but never engages the larger belt. New carb, new gaskets, new coil, new fuel pump, new spark plug. I’m at a lose at this point. The igniter is about all I haven’t changed. Note: rev limiter has been taped off. Also, runs again fine after about 10 minutes of sitting.

Igniter or the coil. Take an old spark plug, run it until it quits, pull the plug end off and stick the old plug in it and ground the threads of the plug to the engine. Press the go pedal and check the plug for spark across the gap.

Just because the starter is turning doesn't mean the engine is running. Clutch doesn't engage if the engine isn't running.

Thanks! If I have no spark is that a bad igniter? The coil is new, so not sure what else it could be.

The next time it cuts off, pull the spark plug and see if it's wet with fuel. You could have a bad needle/seat in the carb float bowl. It may be letting too much fuel in, then it floods and quits.

Is the coil from Club Car or an aftermarket cheapo?
