Default Steering wheel removal

I just recently purchased a 95 club car ds. A previous owner added a lift kit and new tie rods. The problem is the steering wheel is way off center by about 90°. I have tried everything to get the wheel off to re recenter it. I bolted a plate across it and ran a bolt down to the steering wheel mounting bolt and ended up bending the plate till the center bolt pulled through the plate so I moved on to a piece of angle iron but the thing just wont break loose. I even hit the back of the steering wheel while it was in tension with the angle iron. Am I missing something? Is there a better way? Can I unbolt the steering column underneath and turn it till the wheel is right and reconnect it? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike

Adjust it out with the tie rods. Probably only need about 1/8 turn on each one

Don't align it with the tie rods, adjust the drag link, much easier

How do you adjust the drag link?

Sorry for the rookie questions. This is all new to me. Never really messed with golf carts.

loosen the nuts holding the drag link tight, and give it a twist....youll watch the steering wheel move
