Key Start carry all not moving when I press the gas

I have a key start 1996 club car gas cart. It will start up and idle( starter/generator spins) but when I press the gas it doesn't move. It will not go forward or reverse. I have it in the right position under the seat, not maintenance mode. I cant even get it to rev up in maintenance mode. It has spark, I've checked the coil, its good. Cleaned the carb. Its getting fuel. I'm not sure where to go from this point. Anyone have any suggestions or ran into this before? Thanks

Starter is turning the motor but it isn't actually running.
96 I think should have an igniter (small silver box with one spade terminal) behind the rev limiter. Igniter has to be functioning or you won't get proper spark. You may see it at the plug but it will be too weak for the motor to run.

Disconnect and isolate the brown ground wire on the rev limiter to test if the rev limiter failed.

I forgot about cutting the brown wire. I was really hopeful. I cut it and still nothing.

I might have figured something out. What I'm reading is saying the 1996 is counter clockwise. The motor I have spins clock wise. Which wires on the S/G need to be flipped?
Right now its hooked up as
Green F1 to A1
yellow - DF
white - F2
black - A2

Heres a pic of the S/G I have in it. Its not original to the cart . Hopefully it will spin either direction.

Is this cart a recent purchase? Was it running before?
Did you change the SG?

Yes, it was a recent purchase. And no it was not. A buddy had this S/G at his house and it came off a running cart so I know it's good. I'm just not sure if its able to spin CW and CCW.

They spin either direction. Just switch the green wire and ground cable according to which direction you need it to spin.

Test it before putting the belt on.

Replace your micro switches in your electrical box next to your solenoid. There's more to this system than just the switches behind the F&R.
