Just get rid of that belt. It will stretch every few days and never stop slipping.
If your drive belt has a 4 digit number too, toss that too. It will probably shred and leave you sitting on the trail.

Good info. I would have thought it would be more of a squeak than a whine, i've never had a s/g belt slipping before though. my carryall was making a high pitched whine, voltage would drop real low and would have a delay but once I cleaned the dirt off of the battery terminals it was fine. Good to keep in mind though!

I ordered a new belt but for now I just tightened the hell out of the current belt and it works great. I really appreciate everyone’s help. You guys rock! THANK YOU!
