Tried to pull it apart the best i can.. $200 is great for a new S/G and carb. Hell, my brand new Club Car brand S/G was $300. If you are looking for ATV like power, you're not going to get it from a stock golf cart. The governor usually limits your speed to 12mph or so. You can tweak it to about 15-17mph. Also, you can get some extra torque by machining your driven clutch and installing a power spring. |

Re: 1987 ezgo engine
The 2pg is a great little engine and if you can get a carb and starter/ generator for 200.00 Id go for it.Also get rid of the oil pump and per mix your fuel 128:1 1 oz per gallon and yor good to go. I might add before investing in your parts I would do a compression test to make sure your going to have a reliable engine. Anything above 100 psi should be good.

Re: 1987 ezgo engine
On the 2PG,remove the govenor, run an open-element air-filter,shim the primary-clutch 3/16",get a new stock belt, mix the fuel 1-1/2oz per gal instead of 1oz/gal.Lifted with 22"-tires,I'll guarantee 23mph,and plenty of power on the trails(not a quad or side-by-side,but impressive for what it is.).I ran this setup almost 4-yrs.it works.Hope this helps.
