Re: Giant cloud of smoke
Maybe your float valve in the carb got stuck and the engine began flooding. Is this a 2 cycle or 4 cycle engine?

Re: Giant cloud of smoke
Is your engine oil level still OK? Check your spark plugs to see if one is oil fouled.

Re: Giant cloud of smoke
If I remember correctly, white smoke comes from water, black smoke from fuel and blue smoke from oil. I'm thinking you had some water in the fuel.. check in the tank and see if you see any water in the bottom

Re: Giant cloud of smoke
Don't go by your dipstick on a lifted cart! Use the amount of oil recommended by capacity. You probably had the vent tube gulp a bunch of oil during a takeoff, stop, or turn. Since the engine is tilted now, Fill it to the capacity recommended and then note where that shows on the dipstick. Remember that as full. You shouldn't have any more " mosquito fogging " this way!

Yup always go 1/8th inch lower than full on a lifted cart because the motor does not sit level...
