Default 4 stroke engine ID, and replacement options

I may have missed this elsewhere, if I have a 4 stroke engine in my 93/94 Marathon, how can I tell what kind of motor it is, where to get parts for this motor, what this motor can be replaced with as far as a more powerful motor, and what modifications (if any) need to be made?

At the front base of the engine, you will see the engine model. This is way down below the carb.

A 295cc motor is rated 9hp. The 350 cc at 11 hp. If you want more power, there are clones available from Harbor Freight or Maxtools. Or you could soup up your existing motor. Now, without doing anything on the engine, you could get more torque by using a shorter belt. Vice-versa, you can have better top speed by changing your gears (from the present 13:1 to 6:1) and/or using bigger diameter tires. If you decide to use bigger tires, you may have to "lift" the cart. For EZGOs, you can use a 20-inch diameter on a 10-inch rim without lifting the cart.
