Can the g29 (the drive) go any faster
My yamaha G29 (THE DRIVE) was slow when I first got it. I adjusted the rev limiter and it picked up some speed. I am wondering how much more I can squeeze out of the four stroke; if not, is there any low cost engines that would be ideal for the cart. Thanks for the help!

Quote:
Generally speaking, a stock cart with a strong engine, good clutches, 18" tires and standard 12:1 rear gears will max out at about 23 - 26 MPH with the governor bypassed. You should be able to adjust or zip tie the governor arm and get about 20-21 MPH. If you have a lifted cart with 22 or 23" tires, your speed will increase about 4-5 MPH from the 18" tire speeds. |

How do you "zip tie" a governor?

This is a G16-22, but the governor arm setup is the same on a "drive". Take off the rear cover (black, says "yamaha" on it), you will see the governor arm.

Get a 6:1 gear ratio.

Re: Can the g29 (the drive) go any faster
If you have seen how thin the 8:1 gear is compared to the stock gear, you would know that a 6:1 gear does not even exist for ydra team axle. But, please tell us more about 6:1 gears for gas yamahas..
