Default Yamaha G22 ? Driver Clutch dissassembly?

I am trying to take apart the driver clutch to inspect the weights and to have the steel rear half machined while it's apart to fit my new engine. I am drawing a blank on how the bell comes off the top of this thing to take it apart. I've had several guys I work with look at it too and we all are scratching our heads. Short of det cord or throwing it out the window of one of our helicopters, how do you take this thing apart? lol

Is it stock? Kinda sounds like a comet. Post a pic of clutch.

That is not stock. That is a comet clutch. If you put the puller bolt back in, but not all the way. Tap it on a concrete floor. The "hat" will start to pop up. Eventually it will pop off. The puller bolt partly installed prevents the whole thing from blowing apart and shooting weights everywhere. Make sure all weights go back where they came from, sometimes different weight pucks are used, and need to be staggered correctly to apply even force.

Would you by any chance know what size bolt/ thread count that would be? I only have the main bolt that held it on the shaft. So, you thread it through from the back side and knock it off the front? If it's metric I'm stuck till Monday but standard I have options tonight. And I'm surprised it's not a stock clutch on that cart. Is that one inexpensive to rework while I have it apart? Thanks a bunch.

Not really any benefits that could not be achieved with proper tuning on a stock clutch. The ones i have had, i liked due to it allowing the engine to rev a little more before engaging.

I'm disassembling this to take to a local machinist to bore it out for a straight shaft engine. Doing the harbor freight 13 horse conversion to my cart. Excellent engine, lots of power. This clutch is my only hold up to getting it together.
