i was a little wrong in my last reply.sorry;;; my filter sits level, it never fills, i don't think there is enough pressure to fill it.. when the engine is running, there is about one quarter of the filter filled across the bottom,, i was concerned about that, thinking it should be full. but the cart runs perfect,, what i do ,is every few months i just twist the filter so its clean at the bottom.... hope this helps,,

i think the issue is the very small amount of fuel pump pressure.. as long as the gas line going out of the fuel pump stays full ,,towards the carb, the engine will run fine,, i bet a new cart will show a empty fuel filter,, that's why i turn my filter once in a while,, i looked at my riding lawn mower,, the filter has no gas in it either,, but it runs perfect. i do think an electric, is way overkill,, it could even cause problems with the carb, float??? if you think you are having trouble with it,, take the filter out and see how the engine runs, there is even a very small inline filter , you might like, you cant even see in it,, whats important is how it runs;; good luck

whell i installed my low psi eletric fuel pump between my gas tank & the factory pump & all my problems are gone it doesnt starve for fuel on the steep hills. it will hold 13 mph on a 600 ft climb & tops out at 31 on pavement. i wired the pump to only run when the gas petal is depressed so it doesnt flood the carb. it only builds 1 psi pressure & i also have the factory pump as a restrictor. this is the best it has run since i got it. put almost 60 miles on it in 2 weeks & no problems yet. you can see the new pump under the forward reverse switch.
