Alltrax 500 under voltage
After installing new alltrax xct 500 controller LED indicator shows under voltage. Note this is a 36v PDS cart not 48v. The alltrax toolkit shows voltage settings as KSI on voltage 24.0 volts, under-voltage 38.5 volts, and over-voltage 62.0 volts. My current battery pack is measuring 38.4 volts. What do the voltage settings need to be changed to in toolkit.

Re: Alltrax 500 under voltage
I set my Under Voltage at 1.5VPC (Volts per Cell), or about 27V for a 36V pack, but it wouldn't hurt to have it a bit higher, someplace in the 28V to 30V range.
KSI ON Voltage and Over Voltage are okay as is. |

Once again JohnnieB thank you! It's been a minute since the kids and the boss have had their buggy to cruise in and I've got to get it running by tomorrow!

Re: Alltrax 500 under voltage
Would you leave the over voltage at 62.0 volts?

Re: Alltrax 500 under voltage
With flooded lead acid batteries, yes.
With AGM, Gel cells or Lithium, I'd set it to the max allowable charging voltage for the specific batteries. If I had a long and steep downhill driveway from where the cart was stored/charged and I had to use regen braking going down it when the batteries were fresh off the charger, I might back it off some, but I'd run some data logs to find out how high the pack voltage actually climbed to. I have some long steep down grades in the area and the highest pack voltage I've ever recorded (With three different Alltrax controllers and two different motors) is 49.5V and that is with a 42V battery pack, or a max of 2.36VPC (Volts per Cell), which would translate to 42.5V on a 36V pack. |
