2015 EZGO TXT no solenoid activation/ voltage drops
So here is where I'm at with my current situation. 2015 EZGO TXT will not do anything. It started sort of jerking and sputtering when trying to go then it just stopped. Battery pack voltage is 50.5 v. It's got a brand new solenoid & resistor. Voltage at charge port is 50.5 but on pin 5(red/orange wire) in the 10 pin connector it is about 46.5 V. The red wire into the tow/run switch reads is about 49.5 and the red wire out of it reads 25 volts. For some reason the voltage readings on the solenoid small posts and tow switch output and key switch read about 36 but drops to 15 or 20 volts when pedal is pressed. Any idea if this is a bad controller? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 2015 EZGO TXT no solenoid activation/ voltage drops
Has this cart ever been submerged in water? Sounds like there are several corroded connections with excessive resistance.
If the battery pack voltage is 50.5V, there ought to be 50.5V going in and out of the Run/Tow switch and forwarded through all the switches fed by the Run/Tow switch's output. The voltage on Pin-5 is from the charge port and should also be 50.5V, or close to it, when no charger is attached to cart. This is the electronic version of the old reed switch and can be bypassed. Note, I understand the red wire out of the Run/Tow switch is spliced inside the wiring harness and the splice fails. |

Re: 2015 EZGO TXT no solenoid activation/ voltage drops
So if there is 49.5 going into the tow switch and only like 30 co.ing out does that mean the switch is bad?

Someplace between those two measurement points there is a lot more resistance than there ought to be. Also, if the battery pack is 50.5V, there ought to be 50.5V going into the Run/Tow switch. |
