Default 500A or 400A Controller?

I have a EZGO TXT Series Cart that I am upgrading to 48V. I have 23" Tires 2AWG Wires, heavy duty F/R

Should I go with 500A Alltrax?

Here's some thoughts:

You can always turn the 500 down but can't turn the 400 up

The 500 comes with the cooling fan, the 400 does not so the price difference isn't as much as it seems

"overkill is under rated" ------JohnnieB, in several threads over the years

I think the pros here will suggest the 500 model whenever large tires, back seats, multiple passengers or other weight and operations off road are the intended use.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. May as well go for the 500A. Is the Alltrax programming easy?

Yep.. Go read through the manual. Page 16 is where the pages for the SR series start.

If you will (and I highly recommend) buy it from cratsunlimited.net (scottyb) and tell him how you have your cart set up and its intended use, he will program it for you, as he does for all his customers at no cost....so it ends up being pretty much a PLUG-N-PLAY.

and YES go with the 500a......its having a gun....its better to have one and not needing it than not having one and needing it.

Do you have an old controller that still works?
