Default Solenoid failure RXV

A couple of weeks ago, my son was driving my 2015 EZGO RXV and it completely locked up. It would not even move in tow mode. Took it to a local shop and they said the Solenoid was out. He put on another 36v solenoid because that was stock. Yesterday I took the cart off the charger and cart wouldn't move. I had ordered a 48v solenoid to put on the cart anyway, so I changed it out and all worked fine.
My question, what would cause two solenoids to fail in a few weeks? Was it just that it was a 36 volt one?
My cart is all stock freedom mode but does have larger tires.

The controllers prior to mid-2014 had a main coil (solenoid) PWM value of 75% (36 VDC).
That includes controllers 1206AC-5201, 1206AC-5202, 1206AC-5203, and 1206AC-5350.

The controllers post mid-2014 had a main coil (solenoid) PWM value of 100% (48 VDC).
That includes controllers 1206AC-5211, 1206AC-5212, 1206AC-5213,1206AC-5231, 1206AC-5233, and 1206AC-5360.

Your controller probably is calling for a 48v solenoid.

The RXV's have been locking up a lot it seems like with all the post about them lately. Mine locked up a couple times a few weeks ago.

I will check and see which controller I have.
What Solenoid do you recommend? Would you recommend going to the 48v regardless of which controller?

Stick to what it calls for. Unless someone changed the PWM values in the controller. Then you'll need a handset to see that, but probably never been changed.

The Trombetta solenoid works good with these controllers
