Default 2002 TXT Slow in Forward

Cart is slower in forward than reverse, reverse is normal speed so the wiring isn’t backwards. Noticed sometimes have to swap back to reverse and back to forward for it to take off, any suggestions? Bad F/R switch? It’s also some janky switch with just a toggle so not sure what’s going on there just bought it from a auction.

I think the f\r switch is a dpdt switch. If you know for a fact wiring is correct. It sounds like controller to me. But I’m sure the experts will be along shortly to help you diagnose. I assume this is a pds cart with sepex motor?

When you say “reverse is normal speed” does this mean it’s 50% of what full speed in forward should be? Or, reverse is running as fast as forward normally would?

Need to know what drive system it has first. Does it have a run tow switch and if yes does it have a grey wire coming out the driver’s side end of the motor?

No run/tow switch, it has a alltrax Dcx controller.

Well a DCX should have a run tow. Hmmm How about the grey wire? And where is the fnr switch?

After further review it does have run/tow they had it stuffed under the solenoid. This is a really messy wiring job. I’m getting 35volts in the battery’s at wide open throttle which is actually 5 mph for both forward and reverse. Motor is getting pretty hot as well.

35 volts is really low. DCX controller doesn’t care about the speed sensor so that doesn’t matter. Anything getting warm?

Probably worn brushes and low voltage.. Drives the current up and causes more heat. I you have a computer and a serial to USB adapter you can connect to the controller to view what is going on.
