In other words, you want to run a stock PDS motor with a 48V battery pack , 48V controller and 48V solenoid. (Plus a 48V battery charger)

As long as you limit the controller to 400A, it'll be fine. Might be a little lively though. 42V is the sweet spot of a PDS motor.

Unfettered by the 4400RPM limit imposed by the stock PDS controller a stock PDS motor will spin up to about 5600RPM at 36V, about 6535RPM at 42V (+16.7%) and about 7464RPM at 48V (+33.3%). The max RPM for a stock PDS motor is 6500 so you'll need to program that limit into the Alltrax controller or risk exploding the motor.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'll be using a alltrax 300.
figuring on limiting to 6250rpm. Any idea what top speed would be with that? 18" tires with 20-25psi.

Mathematically, 6250RPM is 26.9MPH on 18" tall tires, but the numbers on the sidewalls of tires are very approximate and true height can vary more than an inch in either direction.

My Carlisle Turf-Master tires are labeled 18 X 8.50 - 8, but measure 17" tall.

Using a yardstick and a level is close enough for most purposes.

Also, the calculation does not take mechanical loading into consideration, so The speed you'll get will be a bit less than the theoretical speed.
