Re: Wiring 12V Accessories Directly to Single 12V (Advisable or Not)?
The issue with the key switch is that there is both 48v and 5v circuits. Crossing them blows the 5v part of the controller and the brake and throttle sensors. Ive read that FSIP won't even repair a controller with this type of damage.

Re: Wiring 12V Accessories Directly to Single 12V (Advisable or Not)?
All these post about RXV models are starting to make me thank god I have my old 04 PDS TXT model. Between the brake failures and wiring issues I have become more and more glad I haven't bought one yet.

Re: Wiring 12V Accessories Directly to Single 12V (Advisable or Not)?
Turns out my LED light kit is a MadJax and it was just directly wired to the first battery. So, I installed the Reducer. I took my time and did the terminal bars. Happy with how it came out. Unfortunately, I only had 18 gauge 5/16" ring terminals, but just ordered some 10-12 and will rewire the input side through the switch with 12 gauge, that'll be next week's project. I'm not planning on any stereo stuff, so not too worried about it, but peace-of-mind would be nice in case I want to down the road. I'll be adding a 2 gauge battery hook up kit since it's 6AWG now. Need to figure out how the controller is wired, I haven't really looked down there yet.
I filmed a video explaining it, will send that link once uploaded. Here are some pics: |
