I knew the pistons were in unison, but I had always thought that when the #1 piston is on the compression stroke, the #2 is on exhaust, then #1 power, #2 intake, #1 exhause, #2 compression, #1 intake, #2 power............... etc.

Or is that what you were talking about?

And yes, they are very smooth engines, they have that distinct OHC sound too. Just a little bit like one of those Chrysler/Jeep 4.0 I6s.
