Alltrax Controller on 2018 Precedent
I have a 2018 Club Car Precedent I2 Villager (48v) with the motor EJ8-4001A and a 250A Curtis controller with high speed code that get's me to 20 MPH with 18" tires (no lift). I'm in Florida (flat street use), and would like 24-25 MPH).
A guy that I know that works on carts says that his friend at a Club Car dealer could put in a higher speed code to get me around 24-25 MPH. After reading on this forum, it seems the highest speed code is 19.5 MPH, and there isn't a code that will go faster. Can someone confirm if that is indeed the top speed for stock setup with high speed codes? The consensus seems to be to buy the Alltrax XCT-500, and program it down to 400 amps, change out the solenoid, and wires, and I could leave the stock motor. Would that give me around 24-25 MPH? Would the 400a burn out the stock motor? |

If you have the AMD motor it should be able to handle 500A @ 6500 RPM. I have 18.5" tires and 10.3:1 gears and it will do 28-29 MPH on flat ground. Yours with 12:1 gears and 18" tires would be around 26 MPH. With 18.5" tires you would gain another 1 MPH. |

You sure that it could handle 500A? I was told by D&D motor systems that even at could handle 400A, but still running a risk of burning it out (they said could be two weeks, or could be 2 years, depending on factors such as load on cart, and how hard I push it). |

The stock motor that you have (amd/adc) is not safe to run over 400 amps...You can get the XCT-500 and detune it to 400 amps like you want to do...

Re: Alltrax Controller on 2018 Precedent
Thanks everyone for the feedback. So it sounds like I probably wont burn out my stock motor with an Alltrax tuned to 400a. That's my plan then.
