Default 98 EZGO series cart motor turns but doesn’t move

I have a 98 EZGO series cart. When jacked up and press the pedal the wheels will turn but when I put it on the ground it will not move. I replaced the ITS because I thought that was the problem. I checked all the connections and seem good. Batteries are good. When the pedal is depressed I get 22 volts at C and D on F/R and pack voltage at A and B. And get 22 volts at A2 and S1 on the motor. A1 has 0 volts and S2 has pack voltage(37.1) Any ideas on what to check/ look for? Thanks

Do you have a stripped out rear drum, and an axle turning inside the hub ? On some carts, if you don't have wheel covers or center caps, you can actually see the axle nut turning if that is the issue.

Thank you answering. It has brand new hubs and the spline on the axle is good. The motor just seems to be running at 1/2 or 3/4 speed

Sounds like stripped brake drums.

Remove any hubcaps so you can see the castle nuts on the rear axles and try to drive cart with someone watching the castle nuts. If nuts spin, but wheels don't move the splines are stripped in the hubs.

Only one needs to be stripped. Replace both since the other side is likely to be on the brink of failure.

Which is it, motor turns but cart doesn't move or motor only turns at 1/2 to 3/4 speed.

If the motor runs but cart doesn't move, you've got a mechanical problem like a stripped splines (there's 5 set of them) or broken axle or shaft.

If the cart only goes at about 1/2 speed, it could be MS-4 staying on.

Also, if cart is running slower than normal, it could be an ITS throttle voltage issue.

Thank you for answering JohnnieB. The hubs are new and the splines are in good shape. It just seems like the motor is only getting 2/3 power. We replaced the female part (black part) of the ITS but not the plunger. Do we need to replace the plunger too? Do plunger’s go bad? We are getting the right voltage so we are stumped what to do? Thanks for any help.

The motor runs what seems like 2/3 speed when jacked up but when on the ground the wheels won’t turn

When the carts on the ground we have 14 volts on one side of the ITS and 1.7 volts on the other side

What does the battery pack voltage drop to when you try to drive cart with wheels on the ground?

If fully charge, the voltage ought to be about 38.2V sitting still and drop no lower than about 33V when cart tries to move.

If that is okay, measure between the controller's M- and B+ terminals. Voltage should go from 0V with pedal up to full battery pack voltage with pedal down.
