Default Adding gadgets??

I have added head lights and a led strobe on the rear of my cart. I want to add a stereo and possibly some under carriage lights. My question... Do I need a larger battery? Will the cart suffer from added extras?

Thanks

You can add an extra 12v Deep Cycle battery for ALL your 12v needs. This will keep your pack from being depleted at all, and is the best solution if range is your concern. Of course you would need to charge this with a second charger as needed.

Stealing 12v from your pack is perfectly OK under the following conditions:
The overall amp load is low
You balance charge those 2 batteries occasionally
You keep an eye on all water levels

Another option is stealing multiple 12v circuits from multiple 12v points in the pack. This will spread the loads over the pack better, and if the loads are balanced it can negate the need to balance charge any of the batteries. Stealing from the pack also saves 75 pounds of dead weight.

Will the motor charge the original battery enough for a radio?

Gorno, I think this is a gas cart.

Mfd911, I would get a deep cycle marine battery. There are a lot of people who run a LOT more than just a radio off the factory starter/generator.

I agree with NONO here... get a marine deep cycle. I have one in my cart and have a radio with memory, 4 55watt driving lights, two tail lights, and occasionally a 100,000 candlepower spotlight I run off it all summer long. The charger in these carts should produce enough power to keep the battery level high enough for a radio.

The stock group 26 battery is fine to power those accessories, If you were going to be running a winch I might put in a deep cycle but for lights and a radio you don't need to.
