transfercase on a 1989 ezgo gas marathon cracked and I need help.
I have a 1989 gas ezgo marathon. I have cracked the transfer case on the passenger side. What could of done this. I have a snowmobile engine in it and puts out a lot of torque and maybe that done it. Does anyone have a picture and diagram to repair the transfercase on this cart. I wanted to take it apart but, I didn't want all the juts to fall out without knowing how to put back together.

What are you calling the transfer case?? Transfer cases are used on 4x4 to go from hi to low and 2 to 4 wheel drive and transfer power to the front axle. Are you talking about the axle houseing on the passenger side?

All of us "Not A Clues" really helps. I am so green I recently discovered a cart can be modified.  Why can a case NOT be welded. Matter of fact, I did NOT see a welding department on buggies, or do I need new glasses ?? |

Sorry, I mean the rear end housing. Anyways, we welded it up. I just had to clean it good.

If it is a 2 stoke rear end it is just that a rear end no different than the one in your truck.
If we are referring to the 4 stroke differential it may be referred to as a trans-axle because it does have a Forward and reverse shifting gear to allow the cart to change direction, making it a shifting transmission and axle combination. |
