With an AXE controller, the solenoid activation circuit is completely external to the controller, so it should click whether the controller and/or motor are good or bad.

Attach your voltmeter's negative test lead to the main negative terminal on battery pack.
With the positive test lead, check for full battery pack voltage on the smaller of the three wires coming out of the charge receptacle.

That is the infamous Reed switch and is the most likely suspect if you arced something at the key switch.

If you've got B+ there, check for it at the next component in the series chain that goes to the solenoid coil.

Ok I am going to borrow a neighbors voltmeter to check this out...

All is fixed. In line fuse became disconnected... ugh.. the simple stuff. Thanks everybody!
