ezgo 36 volt charger min volt for charge?
What voltage do I need before the 36 volt charger will start charging the batteries? I have 5 8 volt t-875 trojans. I read somewhere i needed to be at 30 volts. Which is rough cause then I have to trickle charge them all and thats a pain. Is there a charger that will charge them from near dead?
Thanks. :) |

Five 8 volt batteries is 40 volts? the 36v charger needs to see about 28v before it will kick on .....good luck! |

Right now my volts meter is telling me 36.2 I don't supposed it will charge it to 40V then eh. Not much leeway. You know how long one can ride it around before it burns up 6 to 8 volts. Just got this thing and I am ignorant to this whole world.

Re: ezgo 36 volt charger min volt for charge?
So the T-875 Trojans are the wrong batteries? I see that lester sells a 42 V charger for 600 bucks. I have room for one more battery but I don't want to purchase it if you say I have the wrong batteries. What do you suggest then at 150$ a battery I would hate to have to buy all new ones. Looks like trojans website show this battrey for an ez-cart

Ok figured it out the negative side of the plug receptacle was not hooked to the neg of the last battrey so the charger kept thinking it only had 14v in it and would never kick on. I was just curious if I should get a 42 or 48 v charger so I could make sure it charges to 40v max. I am not sure if my 36v charger will shut off when the cart hits 36v or will it charge it up to 40. |
