Help with G29 clutch alignment
Hello everyone.
I am a new member but I have been looking through the forum for a while now. I have been trying to put together this cart for a while and it’s been tough to get parts. I have been struggling with the clutch. I have a new belt but can’t seem to figure out why it’s not aligned. Any help would be appreciated |

Re: Help with G29 clutch alignment
from the picture it seems that the secondary is slightly open allowing the belt to sit lower in the clutch causing the belt deflection. is the belt tight when in this state? Check that the movable sheave is free moving.

Re: Help with G29 clutch alignment
Other than what Dooms stated, everything looks OK,
The whole system always looks off due to the outer drive clutch moving in (left) while the Inner driven clutch moves out (left) as you increase RPMs. This action does keep the belt centered due to the other halves staying stationary. Can you snap a pic from above? |

This is what I have on my phone. I will take some better pictures when I get home.

Re: Help with G29 clutch alignment
So you’re saying the secondary should be free moving side to side or I guess in and out? I did order part number JW1-G2758-01 today. I think this is what I’m missing so it can move freely and align itself.

Re: Help with G29 clutch alignment
The drive or front clutch assy will freely move in and out with the belt removed.
The driven or back assy. will be under a spring preload to close the sheaves when you slow RPMs. Make sure both drive and driven are clean and move smoothly. Check the back one without the belt to see if it is closing completely. with the two halves touching. |

Re: Help with G29 clutch alignment
Yes, it is under a spring load to keep it closed. You can rotate the helix away from the back sheave and you should be able to slide the sheave and check for worn bushing.
