2001 Ez Go PDS
I have a 2001 Ez Go PDS cart and want to get in on the fun. I would like to lift the cart 4 to 5 inches and put some off road tires on it.
My wife uses the cart on the farm and I just want to get some additional ground clearance, for some rougher areas on the farm. I have heard that you should not lift a PDS cart as the controller will over heat. Is this true? If so, are there any other options! Also, what lift kit would you recommend given the application. Thanks for your help in advance!!!!! |

Re: 2001 Ez Go PDS
Im alittle confused, is a PDS the same thing as a TXT? Some web sites say PDS, and others say TXT.

Re: 2001 Ez Go PDS
TXT = Textron is the parent company
PDS = Precision Drive System So you have a TXT cart with a PDS Bob 1234 lots of info about lifting a PDS cart in other threads. I am sure the guys who have a PDS cart will tell you what to do. |

Re: 2001 Ez Go PDS
Lift kit quality = price. Something to consider.
Lifted PDS carts are fine, you just HAVE to add an aftermarket controller. We've sold quite a few 400 amp, as well as 500 amp controllers to BGW members. It all depends on what you expect out of the cart and how much $$$$ you want to spend... |

Re: 2001 Ez Go PDS
I am really just looking for some added ground clearance. Additional performance is not really what I am looking at right now. Can I continue to use the stock controller, or will I experience problems?
I really do not want to spend a whole lot of money, but I don't want to save a few $$$ only to regret it later. Any ideas? |

Quote:
Go with the 400 amp Alltrax controller and a 4 gauge cable set - We've set many members up with this package recently. It is a must with a lifted PDS cart The style and brand of lift is totally up to you. If you are just fun riding, then a spindle lift will be fine. For serious off roading, you will want a drop axle lift or a long travel, but this will be more money... |

Re: 2001 Ez Go PDS
I have a question about the PDS to further this thread. We have just recently lifted a 07 PDS and have everything else stock.
Would we be doing damage to the cart if we just waited for the 300amp controller to go out, and when it did, then upgrade to a 400+ amp controller(also changing the cables and sylenoid)? |
