what rear axel i have
my model number says a 1995 g14 but i checked owners manual for gear lube change and i dont have drain plug on side of housing just a rubber plug in lower center of the diff. cover it has me stumped.

Don't be stumped! Yamaha changed diff'd mid stream. Your's is a Dana. You check and add 90 weight gear lube thru the rubber plug. Only way to change lube is to take the bolts out and pry the cover off (use a puddy knife) ,clean and reseal with RTV selant.
