DS Battery Problem

I just got on my '92 DS earlier and it wouldn't do nothing. I charged it a week ago and put it up. I plugged the charger up and it wouldn't come on so I checked the batteries and only two of them had 2 volts and the other 4 had less than 1 volt. Why are these batteries drained and how do I get the charger to come on? I'm assuming there is a minimum voltage it has to detect to turn on. Do I need to charge the batteries one at a time with another charger? Could one bad battery ruin the rest of them. I noticed the low end torque has not been there for some time now and someone suggested that I had a dead cell.

Any help will be appreciated as I'm am totally confused!!!!

Make sure your accessories arent draining them,Or you have probably got bad batteries.Are they oldies?

I don't have anything different than what I've always had. And yes the batteries are probably 3 to 4 years old and "knock offs" at that (energy power). So, can they all go bad at once? Thanks!!!

I kinda dought it,kinda sounds like someting is on and draining them.

If it ran and charged fine before, Id say you have a better chance that you have a stuck solenoid.

So, how do I get the charger to start and how would I know which solenoid, if any, is stuck?

if those batteries wer that low i think you need to scrap them and fet another set.......i know i know its so much easier when your spending someone eles money but i think you,ll find yourself ahead of the game, there may not be anything draining them that i don,t know but with those #,s i think it might be to late.........4 year old knockoffs yeah its time..............................

OK...can someone tell me how I find out what drained these batteries? I'm probabaly going to get a new set today, but I don't want to drain them and be in the same boat?

it would have to be lights staying on a radio things like that or a stuck soleniod.....but your cart would start running as soon as you put it in gear without touching pedal.......also quite possible they just won,t hold a charge..............................if you get new ones make sure you break them in right and maintain them, they,ll last a lot longer...........................

With a Digital Voltmeter check the solenoid. The large post connected to the positive battery terminal should have pack voltage normally 36v (14v in your case ). If the same voltage is present at the other large post of the solenoid all the time then it is stuck on. First disconnect one of the small wires to it to see if it goes off... if it stays on replace it. if not check for faulty activation circuit ie; key switch , F&R micro, V-glide micro.
P.S. also check to see that your speed wiper in the Vglide is returning all the way to the last lug only.....if not and the solenoid is stuck closed (on) then this will drain the cart..........
