Clutch rollers for 97 g16, plastic or steel ?
Hello to all:
I am getting ready to replace the primary clutch rollers in my 97 G-16 and was looking for advice as to what type to buy. I have found some rollers that look like they might be molded plastic, with collars, (similar in shape to the originals). I have also found some steel rollers, without the collars. (these do not look like the originals but are listed as the proper replacements). The plastic rollers are lower in cost by about $8-$9 per roller. I am looking for recommendations as to which type roller would be the best replacement. Thanks in advance for any advice on this. Ray in Erie,PA - |

I think that you get what you pay for... Mine were replaced with steel and the shop charged me about $30 per roller. (the originals were steel) I don't think that would have picked the plastic ones if I was given the choice.

I agree with Dave...Go steel. I didn't even know they made those cheap plastic ones anymore.

I also went with the steel ones. the way I look at it is if the steel ones wear out the plastic ones will a lot faster.

Thanks to all who replied. I am going to go with the steel rollers as I also believe they will be the best choice, even though I will not be putting that many miles on the cart. RAY
