Distiller water vs RO/DI water
Question... I'm about to pick up my first cart soon(used) and want to know if RO/DI water is good for battery top offs. I have a RO/DI system at home for making water for my saltwater reef tank. The TDS comes out at zero, thus making it pure water.

Re: Distiller water vs RO/DI water
The off grid people have huge expensive batteries and use
distilled water. |

Re: Distiller water vs RO/DI water
That I understand, but also MOST people don't have a RO/DI sitting at their house either. The water runs through a 5 micron sediment filter, then carbon block, then through the RO membrane, then finally through the deionizing membrane. This water is PURE. I have no issues using distilled, but I have over 30 gallons at any given time of RODI sitting in my garage and it's real convenient to use if it won't negatively effect the battery.

Re: Distiller water vs RO/DI water
It's not so much the reverse osmosis which is filtering out the particles but the deionizer that you need. Deionized water is ever bit as good as distilled so as long as you are confident in the final product quality and your storage methods then you are good to go.
