Question Par car knocking noise

I have a 2004 par car 48 Volts .

we have it since new, it has developed a noise at the back.

bit hard to explain, sounds as thou either something is flapping or knocking. like a clanking noise.

We have checked to make sure everything is tight but still the noise persists.

Only way to check fluid on those Dana axles, is to drop the pan. That's also how you add it. Lower the pan carefully, while level there should be fluid. If you've gone that far, clean the surfaces, apply a silicone gasket bead, add 14 ounces of fluid and reattach.

But before you go that far, put the rear end of on jacks and manually turn the wheels. Is the noise still there? If not, you may have a suspension issue or loose part knocking around. If it is still there, then you're down to motor, axle, or something in the brake drum that doesn't belong.

Easist is to pull both drums and make sure no extra rocks, stones, or bolts fall out.

If okay there, remove the motor. Make sure you disconnect the battery pack first of course. There are 3 bolts attaching motor to axle (7/16 wrench). Then again spin the wheels manually.

If still there, you may have an internal axle problem. If that's the case, then get back online here and we'll talk about it.
