I like getting some of this stuff from Amazon Prime just for the convenience:

100 pack of 1n4007 diodes 100 pack of 1n4007 diodes


You should always use a diode across the solenoid coil, the 1amp diode is good for solenoids up to 200amps. Some of the 400amp solenoids can have a higher cold coil start-up current, so typically You would use a 3amp diode.

I was just looking at my set up. The relay close to the key switch is only for the brake lights. You may have a blue, blue-white, orange, and green-white hooked up. The green-white carries juice to the brake. When key is on, it should be hot. If it is, the problem will be under the floor. Hopefully the fuse and not the timer.
