V-glide question
I'm working on a 97 48v ds and everything I'm reading is telling me that it should be 5-0k and it is 0-5k. Is there anything that can go backwards to make it do this. Also, If someone could explain how a v-glide works to me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

The V-glide in question is just a multi step potentiometer. There are resistors stepped up the back of the contacts in series that total up to 5k ohms. The wiper pad moves up or down the contacts and therefore past more or less of the resistors, providing more or less ohms as a throttle signal to the controller.
I believe the 0-5k or 5k-0 thing can be solved by switching around two of the small wires, but I cannot say for certain which ones. Someone who can hopefully will see this and advise though. |

Yes, most 3 terminal potentiometers can be wired to produce an ascending or decreasing value.
See pic below. Using the center lead and the left lead produces ascending value and using center and right terminal produces a decreasing value as the arm sweeps over the resistive element. This shouldn't be a problem as 0-5k is the more popular of the two signals. We carry both throttle signals in the same 500a control for all series Club Cars. |
