Default 99 DS 36v blowing micro switches in v glide

Hey All

I'm totally new to golf carts. Picked up a club car ds pretty cheap, no batteries or charger. I found some Trojan batteries really cheap that all have 6.5v charge.
Went over all the wiring on the cart from a diagram I saw on the sight, and checked the two micro switched then hooked up the batteries to see what would happen. I heard something for a moment then it was dead. Did a search on the forum and checked the v-glide micro switch and sure enough it was fried. Bought a new one this morning, put it in and this time I saw it fry up. Something is wired wrong or is broken but don't know where to start looking.

Could the solenoid cause it? Going to pick one up from my brother and before I put the micro switch in and burn that one up I'd like to see what else to look for.

Thanks!

Welcome to BGW.
If the solenoid diode is reversed the ms will pop, you have a short somewhere.

Well I changed the solenoid with one my brother had laying around and I burnt the diode but it runs!

What size diode and resistor do I need?

36v 99 CC - it's a resistor coil cart so you don't need a resistor or diode. You're good to go
