Nope.

Interesting, on my solenoid, the blue white wire is on the back little lug of the solenoid, and it is connected to pin 11. 347 ohms is the resistance through the solenoid.

But, in my tests of pins 1,2,4, I had v+ jumpered to the back lug....

ah.. which then sent V+ through the solenoid out to the blue wire on the front lug,

Which tells me, I just jumped V+ to the blue/white wire while the controller was plugged in

So. blue/white still on back solenoid lug. Tow off, key off, FNR in N.

Meter on blue/wht, positive on battery, get 51.4 volts, as soon as I throw the tow to run, drops to 1.0 volts.
key on, FNR in F, step on Go, all remain at 1.0v.

Controller outputting backwards?

Is the solenoid polarity dependent? Can the blue and Blue/white wires be switched?

This was not good, if the controller had tried to activate the solenoid, it would have created a direct short accross the transistor inside the controller.

The relay coil itself has no polarity, but when you put a diode across it, as it should have one, the diode defines the polarity.

The positive side or Blue wire is connected to the side where the diode cathode or "stripped" end is connected to.

Did you try the activation test again with the +48v applied to the correct solenoid small post (blue wire side)?

I performed the tests as originally listed, V+ jumped to the blue wire and I got V+ across 1,2,4 and then 3 when pressing the pedal. I did not get a ground to show at the blue/white wire. when in forward or reverse and pedal is pushed. (0v).

There is no external diode or resistor on the solenoid (might be internal?)

Looks like a bad controller.

But, for the next test can I:
1) jack up the cart
2) jumper the solenoid blue/white wire to negative (B-)
3) hook everything up, go to Run/On/F
4) step on the pedal

This should test the solenoid (actually I should hear the solenoid click when I throw the tow to run since that should energize Blue, and the ground is jumped, right?)

Sergio:

How do I check to see if my motor is working on the regen II.

I saw a diagram somewhere that states:

Jump a1 ro F1
Jump a2 to f2

Connect -12v to a1
Connect +12v to a2

Should see wheel turn (jacked up)

I did not want to apply power until I confirmed.

(I dont get a lot of time to work on this)

I did check continuity:

A1 to A2 0 ohms
F1 to F2 0 ohms
ax to fx infinity (no shorts)

That test for the motor is correct.

To reverse the motor direction:
A1 to F2
A2 to F1
Make sure you disconnect the battery cables first and use 2 wrenches when disconnecting the cables from the motor so the stud does not turn inside the motor.

The resistance of the motor coils should be small, but not 0Ω (probably the range setting on your meter).

The armature is usually less than 1Ω and the field coil around 2Ω.

I checked the motor using my 12v battery charger, works fine.

I assembled everything back together, then I jumped negative to the passenger solenoid (the controller is not providing neg on the blue/white wire), solenoid works fine, got 51v out the yellow cable to the controller. Wheels do not turn, but the motor got VERY hot, so something was passing from the controller to the motor. I assume the V+ goes into the controller on the yellow wire, then comes out on the Orange wire? A1 (black also comes from the controller, I assume it is V-, then what are the Little white and big white wires?)

Looks like this controller is fubar.

Be careful applying power that way or You will damage the motor.

There are 2 different output drivers on a Sepex controller, Field and Armature.

Since the controller is not working, if the Armature driver outputs is allowing pack current to flow through the coil without any Field current, the motor will heat to the point of melting the Armature winding.
