Alltrax upgrade no power, solenoid issue? and custom wrap
So since picking up me 2015 precedent I have been able to get everything down I have planned until today. I finally got around to installing the XCT 500 controller with the 400a solenoid and 2g cables...needless to say my electrical fears are coming true and I need help. I have been getting Help from ScottyB too but its after hours now.
I did do the vinyl wrap myself and think it turned out really well. Labor intensive. I was able to make a wire with the correct terminals for the positive solenoid terminal (cable #1 side) I did get the reverse beeper to work but no go with any power. Accessories work and reverse warning beeper works but nothing with the throttle. I feel pretty confident with the controller but still wonder about the solenoid. With the small terminals (light blue and blue with white stripe wires) the direction that state these are polarity sensitive makes me wonder. I pretty much set them up exactly like the one solenoid. I didn’t re-use the resistor from the factory solenoid since the instructions said it wasn’t necessary. I’ve attached some pictures not sure if that will help. I double checked the (green and White cables to the motor). Since they are no longer colored I also replaced the 4g cable that came with the controller (B- to solenoid) with the 2gauge cable per the diagram |

Love the wrap!!! I’m a Martini livery guy but Gulf is a close second.
I bet it’s the charger interlock setting on the controller. It thinks the charger is plugged in. Get it plugged into a laptop and see what it says on the monitor screen. |

Re: Alltrax upgrade no power, solenoid issue? and custom wrap
I’ll give it a shot. I’m not sure how to get access with the batteries still in...I guess I should just plug in a cable perminantly outside of the panel.
I was able to wiggle it free enough to see the fan kick on when I flip it run mode and the lee goes from a green flash to free solid. I looked for the martini decals...I could find ones that would work. This one I just did myself with two different vinyls and Vinny cutting thread. Plus GULFCART |

It looks like you really don't need to worry about the light blue/blue wire polarity because you don't have a diode connected to them. PS I hate those kind of solenoids because the small connections are so close to the big connections.

Re: Alltrax upgrade no power, solenoid issue? and custom wrap
I did this exact install last week, with the same problem. 2015 precedent, XCT500, 400a, and 2g cables.
When you power up, the XCT probably blinks 5 times and then goes solid green. I had same symptoms, reverse buzzer works, accessories on the cart works. Solenoid doesnt click, and the cart doesnt go F or R. Theres a charger interlock setting that needs to be enabled, and then a setting changed within the area that was just enabled, inside the Alltrax software. The setting that worked for me was 'floating/nc' Check out my thread from a few days ago. Specifically Sergio's posts. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...on-issues.html --edit-- I have a USB permanently installed. I ran it up the middle cable channel and its coiled up behind the passenger cupholder. Super convenient to tweak settings while out on test drives. Also, its not necessary to install behind that metal box. Take a look at the XCT install thread. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tall-pics.html |

Re: Alltrax upgrade no power, solenoid issue? and custom wrap
Awesome! That worked, I have the same issue. F-R reverse. Pulling out of the garage space in “reverse” (with 100%) power spin up the rug underneath 😆. I drove it down the street with the reverse buzzer going, I was just so excited it was moving. It didn’t feel any faster st all, but then remembered the Reverse is set to only 50% power.
Does it make any difference where I change the F1/F2 at the controller vs the motor? Thanks again for everyone’s help! |

I also have the USB cable a permanent install, makes life much easier. Make sure you put a plastic cap on the end of the USB cable. God forbid you drop it accidentally on to a battery terminal it could fry the controller. I bought a 10 pack of them on amazon for like $2. |
