Riot Kit Install, Resuming Restoration
Installed Plowmans Riot Kit yesterday, total time was approximately 4.5 hours without help (I now know I can bench press at least 68 lbs ) SO, the cart now runs. Unknown top speed as I am abiding by the recommended motor break-in process. To those who recommended Plowmans, thank you. His customer service is of an unmatched quality. Seriously.
Next on the list is replacing the existing Jakes Lift kit, as rust and deterioration are common on all associated components. My question is (and forgive my lack of knowledge), is there a simple way to determine whether the existing kit is 3" or 6"? Most of the photos and other thread I've compared are inconclusive. Thanks!! |

Riot Kit Install, Resuming Restoration
A quick picture of the old lift kit would help us tell. Great upgrades by the way!

Re: Riot Kit Install, Resuming Restoration
You can see why I'd like to replace... the bolt on the upper-right side of the triangular bracket is either welded (?) or completely locked up with rust. I had to break the top of this bolt in order to remove rear seat for access during motor replacement.

Re: Riot Kit Install, Resuming Restoration
Taking an educated guess at 3" based on brackets in other photos. Stop me now if you disagree. I asked Jake's, they aren't very responsive...

Re: Riot Kit Install, Resuming Restoration
If this distance is greater than 3", it's a 6" lift kit.
