Slow down...
Does anyone know how the BMS works when battery is low? I went about 30 miles yesterday and then I noticed the cart slow down but was still running. Went from going 27mph to around 19mph. Would anyone know how much longer the cart would run for before it dies?

Re: Slow down...
What are your cell voltages? It is critical that you don't run them down too far. My cart with Leaf cells does not slow down at all from fully charged to 20% charge which is as low as I ever take it.

Re: Slow down...
Individual cell voltages are important with Lithium - not total pack voltage. Lowest cell must not go too low or it will be damaged.

Re: Slow down...
The BMS is supposed to disable your cart when the batteries get too low. Perhaps your BMS is not wired in to disable your cart.

Re: Slow down...
You need to provide much more information than you have given:
--Controller model and brand? ---Lithium battery brand? ---BMS brand? As others have stated, if you let the lithium cell (not pack....each cell) drop below a certain number, you will "toast" the battery and put you in a very dangerous potential situation. (Like thermal runaway when charging) It only takes ONE TIME of letting a cell drop below the minimum for damage to occur. |

Re: Slow down...
Any good meter I can put on the cart to judge how much left I have before needing to recharge?
