There is no shaft key in these EZGO cart clutches. It is a taper fit...

Thanks Mike, Yamaha got the taper but also keyed. I assumed they all had keys.
Everything that could be wrong has been covered so I think something has been missed. HUB!!

Iceman, What was the reason for the original teardown of the rear axle?

The cart is now back in business!!! I did find a bad hub, which I replaced, but the smoking gun in this case was the cables and lever which shifts the differential between F/R. I gues by taking apart the diff. I may have corrected an aligment issue. Thanks guys for all the input. Now that I have read many posts on this site, I'm now interested in changing / rebuilding my driven clutch to a 28 degree style..... Do you need to put the clutch in a press in order to remove the retaining ring from the spindle?

A stripped hub on a gas cart is pretty rare I found one last week on a cart that had a loose crown nut.... Glad you got it going!
