Re: gas or electric? best brand?
wow, I hate to hear about your fire. I know it makes you sick, but as scottyb said, glad you or anyone else was not hurt. This thread is also a good reminder for everyone who reads it that things like this DO happen.

Re: gas or electric? best brand?
zz thanks, no new cart yet. Still researching and shopping. Really liked the Precedents but pretty well talked out of them based on the forum and multiple dealers advice. Latest suspect is a 2000 Workhorse, but it's got the Robbins engine that I just had the bad experience with. They say lightning doesn't strike twice but in my case it seems i'm a lightning rod.
EZwallet, thanks to you as well. Maybe I should post some pics of the damage. If it helps one person avoid a problem it would worth it. |

Re: gas or electric? best brand? Pictures of damage
Here is a brief view of the before and after TXT. The house took the worst damage.
Keep those fire extinguishers handy. |

Re: gas or electric? best brand?
Ya sorry to hear that but, if you start tinkering with the electrical system, on a elec cart you can run into the same problems, so the electric carts are no more fire resistant, Im a little bias towards the txt ezgo's, eaiser to work on, thats just my opinion though.

Re: gas or electric? best brand?
bhfear, neither of those. See my earlier post. This was a solid install. Everything new except airbox. Have no idea of the cause, wish I did.
