G14 Rebuild - need to choke under load
I just put an oversized piston in a G14 and seems to be running hot. Not sure how hot is OK? Cyl head is about 275 - 300 F and muffler close to 500F. This is after running a short time and oil is still cool < 150F. I'm afraid to run it to long...maybe these are normal temps? Also, I need to choke sometimes to run the engine under load. Runs really good low end but hesitates when I hit it. Appreciate any advice folks!

Re: G14 Rebuild - need to choke under load
Have to choke is to much air or not enough fuel.
You are running lean and that makes heat. Check for air leaks and be sure the fuel pump is working. |
